The season of autumn leaves takes place from early October to mid-October every year, and Jigokudani and the Oyunuma area are dyed bright red, making it the perfect place to admire the autumn leaves. It is located a 3-minute walk from Noboribetsu Onsen town, and is characterized by the remains of a 450-meter-long crater. There are many fumaroles and fumaroles along Jigokudani, spewing out volcanic gas and high-temperature hot spring water.
