It is a lake created by volcanic activity with a circumference of 43 kilometers. To the south of the lake are the active volcanoes Showa-Shinzan and Mt. Usu, and Toyako Onsen, which has an abundant amount of hot spring water, is one of the prefecture&#8217;s leading tourist spots.
