Takachiho Gorge
Red leaves set off against cliffs
Takachiho Gorge is a deep V-shaped valley formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Aso and the erosion of the Otase River, and the scenery changes with the changing seasons and the season of autumn leaves is here. Especially attractive. The 7km long cliffs seem to go on forever, and the reds and yellows on both sides add color to the cliffs. You can take a leisurely tour of Takachiho Gorge by boat, but be careful as there are many tourists during the autumn foliage season and there will inevitably be lines.
